Well, there’s a DUH moment. Bizarre, that the quiz has checkboxes instead of radio buttons - you could select everything if you wanted to. I’m thinking this person may not be a very experienced quiz creator.
I never made the announcement when I had to get a new(er) car. Mom & Dad sold the car I had when I went to LA, then Dad got the cargo van for me to move back from LA, and I was kinda stuck with it. Until it DIED in the middle of AL HWY 53. Fortunately, I was on the downhill side, and already planning to turn off - to the left. I had to wrestle it into the turn lane (steering went out with the engine), slam on the brakes (also mostly out when the power went) and pray I’d stop in time. I did, and when traffic was clear, I let off the brake and coasted into the parking lot. Momentum carried me over the first speed bump, but the second one, combined with the fact that I was headed for a drop off that terrified me so I hit the brake, stopped the van and it would go no further. I couldn’t push it, and my AAA had expired, so I couldn’t get it towed. I had to wait for Dad to come push it with his van. So, I called the other new girl at work (as this was August? I think) and had her pick me up for work the next day. Anyway, not having a vehicle was not an option, so I did what was probably my best selling job ever - I convinced my parents to help me get one of the used vehicles on our lot:
I’ve figured out that, like the Black Pearl was Captain Jack Sparrow’s freedom, so is my car to me. Trouble is, “Black Pearl” would be a great name for a black car, but this one’s burgandy. Technically it’s called Berry Red, but still. No, I didn’t have a lot of color choice; it was the only thing in the right price range and still in good enough shape to be considered reliable for long term. So. Any suggestions? I like the idea of “Pearl,” but I’m not convinced it works - who’s ever heard of a red pearl? At least it’s not fire engine red - I don’t think I could take it…
